Dick Simmons is responsible for managing DeWitt's global Methanol Services with
individual emphasis on methanol activities in the America's. Dick also has a
coordinating role with the MTBE Services, Fuel Services and the annual Methanol
and MTBE conferences.
Prior to joining DeWitt, Dick spent 10 years with Methanex Methanol in senior
marketing positions. Dick also spend 25 years with Tenneco. His experience
ranged from process engineering at Tenneco Chemical's methanol plant in Texas
(now Enron plant) to VP of Tenneco's Global Methanol Business when the methanol
and MTBE plants were sold to Enron.
Dick's early experience started as a coop student at Georgia Tech working for
DuPont in New Jersey and in Maryland. After graduation, Dick spent time with
Union Carbide in New York, United States Gypsum in Georgia and Shell Chemical
in Texas before joining Tenneco Chemicals. Dick retired from Tenneco after 25
years of service.
Dick holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
